As we celebrate 75 years since the end of The Second World War in Europe, we must remember all those who sacrificed their lives to make our country great again. We must celebrate the bravery, the selflessness & the whole sense of community that everybody faced all those years ago; and Thank them. We may be celebrating at home, our plans may have been cancelled but if today doesn't put into perspective how lucky we actually are, we don't know what will. Today, we also think about those who are the frontline in today's world, our NHS heroes who are currently fighting a different battle altogether. We may not be at war with another country right now, but we're at war with a disease and when we come out of it, we can celebrate together just as they did 75 years ago. So today we smile. We take time to think about how far this country has come in 75 years and we take that commitment and drive to set our goals high and work together so in 75 years time, people can look back on us with as much pride as we look back now.
