South Bromsgrove High School Flooring Refurbishment

Scope of Works

Falcon delivered a large-scale flooring refurbishment across corridors, staircases, and toilet facilities at South Bromsgrove High School. Works included uplift of existing finishes, full subfloor preparation with STR copper disc treatment and moisture-tolerant smoothing compounds, installation of Forbo Marmoleum Decibel in circulation areas, and Polyflor Polysafe Standard Cool Aqua in toilet environments with coved skirtings, welded joints, and precision transition detailing.

Technical Challenges & Solutions

• - Nearly 770m2 of existing finishes required removal and stabilisation, including acoustic residue management via STR copper disc treatment.
• - Programme sequencing had to align with the school holiday window and dependent access works by external facilities teams.
• - Staircase installations required specialist templating and mechanically fixed nosings to achieve safe, precise, and durable results.

The Results

The project was completed on programme in 30 days, on budget, and snag-free before student return. The upgraded environments now deliver improved durability, hygiene, and acoustic performance, with defect-free finishes across corridors, staircases, and toilet facilities.
